What You Need to Know about
Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees

An overdraft occurs when the available balance in your checking account is insufficient to cover a transaction at the time it is presented to us for payment. Please refer to the current version of our Membership and Account Agreement (Agreement) for more information regarding overdrafts.

We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:

1. We have standard overdraft practices that come with your account.
2. We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as a link to a savings account or Overdraft Protection Loan, which may be less expensive than our standard overdraft practices. To learn more, ask us about these plans.

This notice explains our standard overdraft practices which is our Platinum Overdraft Service.

What are the standard overdraft practices that come with my account?

We do authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:

• Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
• Automatic bill payments scheduled through Online Access Bill Pay
• Automatic payments made through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system

We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you ask us to (see below):

• One-time debit card transactions, such as point of sale purchases at grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants and retail stores.

We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction.

If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will generally be declined.

What fees will I be charged if EECU pays my overdraft?

Under our standard overdraft practices:

• We will charge you a fee of up to $24 each time we pay an overdraft.
• There is a daily limit of four fees that will be charged for overdrawing your account through the Platinum Overdraft Service.
• If the overdraft amount is less than $5, we will not charge a Platinum Overdraft fee.

What if I want EECU to authorize and pay overdrafts on my one-time debit card transactions?

If you want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on your one-time debit card transactions, you must let us know. Please complete and submit the form below or call us at (559) 437-7700 or (800) 538-3328.

If there are multiple owners on the account, any account owner can act on behalf of all owners. Only one account owner's authorization is needed to add or remove the overdraft coverage.

I want EECU to authorize and pay my one-time debit card transaction overdrafts on the account number(s) listed below. I understand I will be charged fees as stated above.

I have the right to revoke this consent any time by contacting EECU in writing or by phone.
