At EECU, we believe that financial education is one of the greatest gifts we can give young people. Our award-winning Wise Up Financial Education Program is specifically designed to bring real-world financial decisions into the classroom — helping high school and college students understand how the choices they make today will affect their future lifestyle, credit, career, and independence.

During a Wise Up event, students immerse themselves in a realistic simulation of independent living. They choose a career and its corresponding salary, factor in taxes and deductions, and then move through interactive station-based modules that cover key lifestyle decisions, including housing, transportation, family size, discretionary spending, and more.
“This experience was a wake-up call to me! I learned how important one’s credit score is, and it encouraged me to start building my credit. Overall, it was a very useful and educational activity.”
At each station, students confront real numbers, real trade-offs, and real consequences. This immersive experience makes abstract financial concepts concrete and personal.
Many teens graduate without ever owning a checking account, balancing a budget, understanding how payroll deductions impact take-home pay, or recognizing the importance of credit. Wise Up helps bridge that gap.
EECU provides all the resources needed for your school to host a Wise Up event. We’ll work with you to tailor the experience, schedule the event, and guide your students through the workshop. It’s free and designed to integrate smoothly into your classroom or campus-wide event.
