Verify or Update Your Vehicle Insurance Information
When you finance a vehicle with EECU you need to maintain adequate insurance coverage and provide us with your insurance information so we can confirm that your policy meets our requirements. If you receive a letter, email or text message requesting that you submit your insurance information to us, you can visit myinsuranceinfo.com to quickly and easily update your information.
Why did I receive a letter, email or text message about my insurance?
You received a notice from EECU about your insurance because we need to verify that you have the required coverage in place for your vehicle loan with us. Our loan agreement requires you to maintain a certain level of insurance coverage for the life of the loan.
Who is MyInsuranceInfo?
MyInsuranceInfo is an insurance verification service that partners with EECU to help make sure your information is up to date and you’re sufficiently covered. Through a simple and secure online process, they help you provide proof of insurance for your loan.
How long does insurance verification take?
The process is quick and shouldn’t take more than five minutes to complete. You will receive a confirmation email when your insurance information is received. If additional information is needed you will receive a letter in the mail with further instructions and a phone number to call.
What information should be included on my insurance policy?
Please provide the following information:
Educational Employees Credit Union listed as Loss Payee
Reference ID number from the notice you received from us (if you don’t have a Reference ID, please use #4472)
Our mailing address: EECU Attn: Insurance Department P.O. Box 2122 Carmel, IN 46082
Vehicle description and VIN
Comprehensive and Collision coverages ($2,500 maximum deductible for each)
Policy number and current policy period
Insured’s name and address
Collateral that matches the collateral on your loan agreement.
How do I know if I have the right coverage?
Refer to your EECU loan agreement for exact coverage requirements.
What happens if I don’t verify my insurance?
If you don’t verify your insurance, you might get CPI/LPI coverage force-placed on your account. CPI/LPI is an incomplete and expensive form of coverage only intended to insure the collateral, not you or anyone else potentially involved in an accident. Fortunately, the verification process should only take you five minutes, and then you can avoid CPI/LPI while making sure your collateral is protected.
