Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

EECU offers insurance coverage that pays a benefit when the policyholder dies or incurs a debilitating injury due to an accident.

Basic coverage ($3,000) is available free to all Educational Employees Credit Union members age 18 and over, once they enroll. (Basic coverage is reduced to $1,500 for members age 70 and over.) Benefits are paid directly to the insured or beneficiary, and the policy remains in force for as long as the credit union membership is in force.

Additional coverage is available for purchase at affordable rates, for maximum affordability and peace of mind. Extended coverage is available in $10,000 increments up to a maximum of $250,000. Simply choose the amount of additional coverage you need. The premium for each $10,000 of additional coverage is $0.90 a month for individual coverage, or $1.35 a month for full family protection. For your convenience, the premium will be automatically deducted from your EECU savings or checking account.

Selecting added coverage also entitles you to special extra benefits, including: common carrier coverage, inflation adjustments, education benefits for children (family plan only), hospital confinement benefit, day care benefit and more.

Accidental death & dismemberment insurance (AD&D) is provided by EECU. EECU membership puts you in the EECU group of covered individuals and makes additional coverage available to you. AD&D is not an obligation of EECU or guaranteed by EECU, even though an EECU employee may assist you with AD&D and payments for AD&D coverage over $3,000 will be deducted from your EECU account. Any disputes regarding AD&D insurance must be resolved between the EECU member and the AD&D insurance carrier and/or EECU.
