EECU Mission Statement

Our purpose is to achieve unrivaled member satisfaction by understanding our members' financial needs and providing quality financial products and services.

Credit Unions are formed to provide non-profit, discount financial services to groups of individuals who share a common bond. When individuals who share a common bond join a credit union, they are called members. These members are the actual owners of their credit union. And because the credit union was formed to serve them, there are no other stockholders. Any earnings from the credit union are returned to its members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and lower fees for financial services.

Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) was founded on April 21, 1934 as Fresno Teachers Credit Union, one of California's first credit unions. In November, 1981, the Board of Directors of Fresno Teachers Credit Union elected to change the name of the credit union to Educational Employees Credit Union to better describe the common bond of the membership served by the credit union. This common bond now includes school employees, students, members of school organizations, and many of their family members in Fresno, Inyo, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, and Tulare Counties.

EECU is very financially secure. Depositors enjoy insurance coverage to at least $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government. Educational Employees Credit Union is a full service retail financial institution (it does not provide business financial services). Checking Accounts are free and pay dividends when balances are over $500. Share Savings Accounts, certificate accounts and Individual Retirement Accounts have some of the best rates available. Loans and credit cards are available for almost any purpose, also with some of the best rates around.

Accounts are easy to access through any of EECU's branches in Fresno, Clovis, Hanford, Merced, Madera, Reedley, Selma, Tulare and Visalia, ATMs, Co-Op Network ATMs (over 30,000 ATMs), our free Online Access home banking system, 24-hour toll-free automated Personal Telephone Access System, or the Member Service Center which is open for telephone access from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
